| Biography: | | A former wunderkind Mickey is England‘s leading player and has been so for some years now. British champion at 18 in 1989, and a two-time finalist in the knockout FIDE world championships Adams is well established in the top 10. While he never won Corus or an event of that magnitude Michael is expected to finish high at the upper half of the list. Never afraid of battle or long games with a lot of maneuvering and planning, he is a dangerous opponent to anyone and another example of someone who might be soft spoken and a cool customer on the outside but full of chess venom. Some have compared his intuition of ‘knowing where the pieces belong‘ to Anatoly Karpov and over the years he has an especially good record and high placing in knockout tournaments. |
