As known for more than a year now, the history of the Hoogovens- and Corus Tournaments can be found at this website (see 'Statistics' and 'History'). Analyses by Mr. Jan van Reek can be found via this link: www.endgame.nl/wijk.htm.

The internet page shows an overview of 70 years Hoogovens and Corus tournaments. Van Reek discusses how the event started, how it developed into a large chess tourney and became an international top tournament. Illustrations show many of the places, where the event has been played.

A file of 464 selected games can be downloaded. The most advanced methods have been used for new analyses. When games of a new tournament are presented, it starts with a description of the event. The last selected game ends with the main final results.
